South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) is urging the public to Choose Well this Easter and to stop and think before dialling 999.

The Trust is committed to delivering the right care in the right place at the right time, but with demand for ambulance services across the UK increasing we are reminding the public to call us only in the event of a life-threatening emergency.

Nurse recruitment drive boosted

A nurse recruitment drive by the Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust continues to bear fruit.

The Trust is looking to enhance its nursing teams at North Devon District Hospital and its community hospitals.

It is also aiming to boost its community nursing teams which care for patients in their own homes.

A total of 40 people attended the Trust’s latest recruitment open day at Tiverton and District Hospital on Monday 23 March, 15 of whom were offered jobs following an interview on the day.

Nominate your community transport hero

Devon County Council has launched its annual search for nominations for this year’s Community Transport Awards.

The awards, now in their 16th year, aim to recognise the outstanding service, commitment and contribution made by people involved in community transport in the county.

Nomination forms are now available from the County Council and must be submitted by the closing date of Monday 27 April.

Cranbrook community star in short film

A short film commissioned by East Devon District Council charting the development of Cranbrook has been released.

Recording took place when the community came together to celebrate ‘Cranbrook Day’ on 29 June last year, an event that included consultation undertaken by East Devon Volunteer Support Agency (EDVSA), to find out what residents would like to see in the Cranbrook of the future.
