Remembering RAF men who died on Dartmoor

On the evening of Friday 21st March 1941 an RAF bomber of 49 Squadron crashed onto Hameldown, Dartmoor killing all four crew members on board. To commemorate the 74th anniversary of the crash a special event will take place at Higher Cemetery, Exeter on Saturday 21st March 2015. Musicroom Exeter is supporting national Learn To Play Day, with free music lessons at the store on Saturday 21st March.

The annual event, run by the Music for All charity aims to encourage everyone to ‘Learn To Play’ a musical instrument.

Celebrating youth sport in Devon

Over 1,200 participants are set to take part in The Devon Winter School Games on Thursday 19 March, at Torbay Leisure Centre and Paignton Community & Sports Academy.

This event enables young people from schools throughout Devon to participate in competitions spanning nine different sports including cross country, goalball, handball, hockey, netball, rugby and table tennis. Young people from local schools and colleges will also be involved in organising the event on the day as over 100 of them will be recruited as ‘Games Maker’ style volunteers.
