And the makers have revealed they have now reserved two prime sites for charities on the city’s new official board - the second charity announced today.

Rhodes wows Exeter Phoenix

Review by: Sam England Photos by: Paul Ramisch

An epic bass and drum driven instrumental soundtracks Rhodes’s ominous entrance to the stage. With no lights upon them, it’s hard to tell if this is the masterful work of Rhodes’s four member support band or just some legendary score for that film you’ve always meant to get around to watching sometime, being blasted out the PA. It turned out to be the former. Almost as soon as it began, the atmospheric layers fall away, leaving a spotlight exposed Rhodes, singing gently to the accompaniment of his own hollow-body electric guitar. It’s...

Farmers’ leaders in the South West are predicting more tough times ahead for the region’s dairy industry.

The recent announcement of further cuts means farm gate milk prices are likely to remain below the cost of production for some time to come, putting many farming families under increased pressure.

In the South West this is exacerbated by having to deal with the financial and emotional effects of bovine TB. According to figures published by industry body AHDB Dairy, 124 farmers from the region have left dairying over the last year, a stark illustration of the problems...
