Remembrance-tide in Exeter

The launch of the 2015 Poppy Appeal in Devon (coinciding with the arrival of the Royal British Legion’s Field of Remembrance on Cathedral Green) has marked the beginning of Exeter Cathedral's preparations for the coming season when we remember those close to us who have died.

November also includes occasions when the entire country stands still to honour the memory of lives lost in armed conflict.

There are plenty of opportunities to gather in the Cathedral for glorious music, moving worship or silent prayer, including the popular Remembrance Sunday Service (8th November 2015 at 11.30) or the Solemn Eucharist for All Souls’ Day featuring Fauré’s Requiem (2nd November 2015 at 17.30).

The Cathedral Choir will also give a special concert on Armistice Day with a carefully chosen programme of music for the season including works by Vaughan Williams, Bainton and Harris (11th November 2019 at 19.30, tickets from 01392 285983).
