Lloyd’s Kitchen and Heart raise cash for Honeylands

Independently owned Lloyd’s Kitchen joined forces with Heart to help raise money for Honeylands Children’s Charity.

The Global ‘Make Some Noise’ campaign organised by Heart, attracted 50 diners and four competition winners to Lloyd’s Kitchen.

Restaurateur Lloyd Gardner hosted the event donating a delicious three-course dinner, prepared by resident Chef Graeme Murfin, for each guest with all monies going to the charity.

Breakfast presenters Matt and Caroline were on hand to entertain the guests and help out in the kitchen.

Exeter Hawks reach national finals

Students from the Exeter Hawks Wheelchair Rugby Club took part in the BT Youth Wheelchair Rugby Tournament at the Cooper Box Arena at the Olympic Park last Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th October and came away as silver medallists.

Force Cancer Charity Christmas Fair returns

On Saturday 5 December the Force Cancer Charity Christmas Fair is taking place in the Cullompton Community Centre, organised by Dorcas Philips for the fourth year running.

Budding ghost hunters can get into the ‘spirit’ of Halloween this year by taking part in the ever popular Spooks and Broomsticks Tours.

Run by Exeter’s Red Coat Guides, these FREE guided walking tours take place on Thursday 29 October and depart from outside the Royal Clarence Hotel, Cathedral Yard, from 6.15pm, with the last tour departing at 7pm. The tours are suitable for all ages, and no booking is required.

Exeter hotel donates televisions to charities

A popular Exeter hotel has donated television sets to a charity fundraising body, after undergoing a major re-furbishment.

The Mercure Exeter Southgate underwent a £2.5m re-furbishment earlier this year. The hotel donated 20 television sets, which were previously in rooms, to the Exeter Foundation.

As a fundraising body, the Exeter Foundation offered the televisions to its member charities on a first come first served basis. The televisions were snapped up within 2 hours by a number of different charities.
