Honiton’s first ever Gate to Plate event, celebrating East Devon’s finest food and craft producers, was pronounced a resounding success today (Wednesday 18 July) not only by the 6,000 visitors who attended, but also by HRH The Prince of Wales and HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, who flew in specially to meet around 60 of the district’s most innovative and creative traders.

More than a thousand people attended a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see ‘What's Behind The Big Red Wall' at Exeter's Wyvern army barracks.

A series of open air summer night concerts saw BBC Radio Devon's David FitzGerald narrate three evenings of music and history documenting a century of the barracks over 100 years from 1918 to 2018 right in the heart of the city.

Places on the Hospiscare Twilight Walk , taking place on 7 July, are going fast, so walkers – and runners – are advised to sign up soon. For the first time, this year’s event includes a 5k fun run as well as the now-traditional 5 or 10 mile walking routes, to cater for women and girls of all ages and levels of fitness.

The NHS is turning 70 this year, and to celebrate, Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust is holding a family fun day at North Devon District Hospital. The event will take place on Sunday 1 July 2018 from 10am-4pm. Girls display top class football skills at memorial tournament

More than 100 girls took part in a football tournament established in memory of former Exeter journalist and CITY Community Trust operations manager Catherine Fraser.

The event, which took place at Exeter University, saw 10 teams from schools across Devon play against each other in two competitions.
