To celebrate Global Entrepreneurship week (16th -24th November), Exeter’s students and business professionals were invited to an inspiring development evening of Young Enterprise.

This business development event was held on the 18th November at St James School in Exeter, with delicious food for the networking afterwards sponsored by FRESHA.

Quality of education transformed at St Peter’s School

An Exeter secondary school has been ‘transformed’ in just two years and is now a good school with many outstanding qualities, according to independent education inspectors.

And St Peter’s Church of England School is set to get even better, they say.

Just two years ago, inspectors from the schools’ standards agency, Ofsted, said St Peter’s required improvement.

Buckfast Abbey education manager up for Lifetime Achievement Award

Alison Gagg, Education Department Manager at Buckfast Abbey , is celebrating the news that she has been shortlisted for a Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Contribution to Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC). Initially appointed as part of a one-year project to set up an education service for the Benedictine monks who reside at Buckfast Abbey, 30 years on and Alison is still there, heading up a renowned learning centre that offers an extensive range of programmes and events for children and young people.

Exminster Pre-School is ‘Outstanding’

Staff and children at Exminster Pre-School have been celebrating an ‘Outstanding’ OFSTED report.

The report rated the Pre-School as Outstanding in both nursery education and care, praising in particular the very high standard of teaching, the experienced staff who have an excellent understanding of each child’s needs, and how staff work exceptionally well with parents.

Education milestone for Cranbrook

The first students started their classes at the new Cranbrook Education Campus on Thursday 3 September, a brand new ‘all through’ school for pupils aged between two and 16 run by The Ted Wragg Trust.

The school opened with around 60 places filled in the Nursery, 17 primary school students and 31 Year 7 students. The classrooms are being opened in phases, with more space used in line with student numbers as the community continues to grow.
