Welsh singer Aled Jones MBE is set to wow audiences across the UK in 2016 as he embarks on a 22-date Cathedral tour.

The household name will visit cathedrals in England, Scotland and his home country of Wales on a series of dates throughout May and June, culminating in a very special ‘home-coming’ show in his home-town of Bangor on July 2.

Carers asked to help design support services

Devon County Council and the NHS are asking carers what they think excellent carers’ services would look like in Devon.

The organisations, which form the Devon Carers Partnership, are thinking now about the support services that they’ll be tendering again for in future, so they’ve arranged events around the county to ask carers what they think.

Carers can be all ages, but for this research they’re specifically interested in what adult carers of adults think about support available to them.

World music premiere on Dartmoor

The world premiere of a new composition, inspired by Dartmoor and composed by Michael Alec Rose, will take place on Saturday 18 June at a Summer concert in Moretonhampstead.

Il Ritorno: A Perambulation for Unaccompanied Violin will be performed by internationally renowned violinist Peter Sheppard Skaerved on a 1629 Girolamo Amati violin (Amati’s son taught Stradivari the craft of violin making).

The concert is being held on Dartmoor at the express wish of the composer, whose work has been performed widely in Europe, the United States and South America.

St James Park development gets go-ahead

Exeter City Football Club has conirmed that the Secretary of State has given the go-ahead to the St James Park Development.

Plans to replace the ageing Stagecoach Family Stand had been put on hold while the club waited to hear the outcome of a request for the development plans to be called-in from the St James Forum.

Devon’s Crealy have launched their latest competition to find their very own official junior “vlogger”.

The competition requires little ones to audition for the opportunity to be the Park’s very own cinematographer, responsible for capturing a child’s eye view of all the thrills and spills to be enjoyed at Devon’s Crealy.
