A local digital marketing agency is aiming to help businesses hit the ground running in 2017 with a series of free events.

The first masterclass, to be held on Wednesday 15th February, will focus on how businesses can tweak their current Twitter activity in order to increase the amount of leads and enquiries they are gaining.

Cullompton logistics company Kay Transport has expanded its services across Europe with access to a new super hub in Knüllwald, in central Germany. More than 250,000 people lined the county’s streets and roads to watch the Devon Stage of the Tour of Britain last September according to an independent report.

It reveals that despite the wet weather the Devon Stage on Friday 9 September 2016, hosted by Devon County Council and supported by Teignbridge District Council, East Devon District Council and Dartmoor National Park, attracted more spectators than the previous 2014 stage and generated more than £4.26 million for Devon’s economy.

Devon woman finds snake in bathroom

A woman from Plymouth returned home from shopping on Sunday (January 8) to find a corn snake wrapped around her bathroom curtain rail.

Homeowner Christine Mitchell was able to monitor the snake at her flat in Henderson Place with the help of a neighbour and monitor it until an RSPCA inspector was able to arrive.

RSPCA inspector Jo Pearson said: “The caller returned home from shopping and noticed her bathroom curtain rail hanging off at one end, when she went to reattach it she found the small corn snake sat on the curtain rail and called us.

Stagecoach has announced that the South West Falcon carried its 150,000th passenger - less than a year since the launch of the 24/7 coach service.

Parishes Together Fund lights up Exmouth and Honiton

Did you enjoy Exmouth and Honiton’s exciting new Christmas lights?

These were thanks to a joint project from Exmouth and Honiton Town Councils and mainly funded by East Devon District Council and Devon County Council through their Parishes Together Fund.

The money has been used to purchase, test and put up the festive street lights and decorate and put up the town’s Christmas trees. It will also fund the storage of the lights for a year. The lights will be swapped between the towns to provide a fresh display each year.

Sales and support staff at south coast based Hendy Group in Exeter have been honoured for their contribution to a record year at the company’s annual sales awards which was hosted by TV presenter Natasha Kaplinsky.

The Post Office will open a brand new branch at WS Retail, 1 Sylvania Drive, Exeter, EX4 5DT on Monday 30 January at 1pm.

The branch will be the first Post Office in this part of Exeter. Post Office services will be offered from a low-screened, open-plan Post Office counter that is integrated into the retail counter, enabling customers to carry out a wide range of Post Office transactions alongside retail purchases.
