Police in North and West Devon are warning van owners to be extra vigilant following a spate of van thefts in North Devon.
Over the last few weeks there have been several thefts of tools and other trade equipment which have been left in vans. Officers are advising the public not to leave their tools and equipment for prolonged periods in their vans, especially overnight.

Exeter artist James Lake began sculpting as part of his recovery after losing his leg through bone cancer aged 17. James now uses cardboard as his medium of choice, creating intricately detailed life-size sculptures from the recyclable material.

A woman has died following a fall from a bridge near Tiverton.
Police were called just before 4.40am on Wednesday 6 December with reports that a woman had fallen from the bridge on the A361 North Devon link Road between Sampford Peverell and Tiverton.
The road was closed as emergency services attended the incident, including support from Fire and the Police helicopter.

Devon’s gritters will be out in force this evening and overnight with the possibility of snow showers and icy conditions forecast.
There is a chance of up to 5cm of snow on higher ground, and the County Council’s 37 frontline gritters will be treating all of Devon’s main salting routes.
