A research lab at Exeter Medical School opened its doors to an 11-year-old boy who has Type 1 diabetes so that he could learn about groundbreaking research into his condition. British Transport Police are appealing for information after a train guard was assaulted on a train between Newcourt and Digby and Sowton.

At around 3.40pm on Monday (19 February), four teenagers became abusive towards their train guard when he asked to see the tickets.

The group – made up of three girls and one boy – all spat at him, which landed on his face and uniform.

Though uninjured, it left the guard extremely shaken.

Exeter Cathedral School (ECS) has announced the launch of its new Awards Scheme.
