At least 9,000 new foster families are needed across the UK during 2013 to look after the record numbers of children in care who need to be fostered, according to figures out today from the Fostering Network.

Specialists from Devon and Cornwall Police have worked closely with Exeter City Council to help secure a prestigious Park Mark award for its John Lewis car park, Exeter.

The John Lewis car park, formerly King William Street car park, reopened for business during September 2012 and has been successful in achieving the Park Mark Safer Parking accreditation for the first time. Police keen to trace heavy goods vehicle after A30 collision

Police seek witnesses after 18-year-old assaulted in Exeter

Police in Exeter are appealing for witnesses after an 18-year-old man sustained head injuries following an assault, which took place between 11pm on Friday 8th February and 0.40am on Saturday 9th February near to The Foyer on Commercial Road.

Two men aged 20 and 21 years have been charged with grievous bodily harm and appeared at Exeter Magistrates’ Court today, Monday 11th February 2013.
