RICS launch guide to help small businesses manage their property assets

The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has today launched a guide to help small businesses take better control of their finances through managing their property assets differently.

Property costs – such as business rates and rent – are one of the most significant expenses incurred by SMEs and failure to take professional advice as to how to manage them could costs businesses thousands of pounds.

Get ready for the 2013 Tour of Britain - a spectators' guide

Spectators have 85 miles (137km) of Devon’s roads to choose from when it comes to being part of the 10th anniversary Tour of Britain in the county on Friday 20 September.

Devon County Council will host Stage Six of The Tour, starting in Sidmouth and finishing at Haytor, in Dartmoor National Park.

Devon business helps Olympic Legacy live on

Just over one year on from the Olympics, Aspects Pools, a local swimming pool provider, is doing their bit to carry on the Olympic legacy. The Devon-based outfit has just completed an innovative competition for the British Water Polo Community.

The competition challenged water polo teams to reach out to their local communities, and raise awareness of the sport. The Antiques Roadshow has come to Exeter.

The BBC television show, now into its 36th series, will see some of the UK’s top experts in antiques and fine arts offering free valuations to anyone who attends. By 9am the queue was already several hundred strong with people and antiques stretching around Exeter Cathedral Green. Cut down on congestion and costs by joining Exeter's car club

Devon County Council is calling on Exeter to use a car club to cut down on congestion and travel costs. Through LSTF (local sustainable transport funding) the county council is supporting Exeter-based company Co-Cars to buy more vehicles and raise the number of users. By joining the car club residents can book a car when needed without the cost of keeping one on the road full time. Cars are parked in a designated bay and can be unlocked through a smart card.
