Cofton Country Holidays launches new range of high-end holiday cottages

Devon’s multi award winning Cofton Country Holidays, located near the pretty coastline at Dawlish Warren, welcomed over 40 guests to the unveiling of its new range of eight high-end holiday cottages this week, including guests of honour Beckie Bettesworth and Laura Wall, both of whom have artwork in the cottages.

New Dawlish cycle link approved

Proposals for a safe cycle link between Dawlish Warren and Dawlish town centre has been approved.

Councillors at Devon County Council’s Cabinet Meeting on Wednesday, December 9, backed a scheme which will extend the Exe Estuary walking and cycling route from Dawlish Warren towards Dawlish Town Centre.

The scheme, which has an estimated cost of £621,485, is one of several which, when combined, will eventually link Dawlish Warren to Dawlish Town Centre.

Once completed it will create a shared use footway/cycle route on the south western side of Exeter Road.

Dawlish Warren management scheme exhibition

The Environment Agency and partner Teignbridge District Council are holding a public exhibition on 26 November 2015 to provide more information about the Dawlish Warren beach management scheme to hear your views on what is planned.

The exhibition will be open from 2pm until 8pm on 26 November 2015 at the Langstone Cliff Hotel, Dawlish Warren, EX7 0NA.

Blue Flag status yet again for Dawlish Warren

Dawlish Warren has retained its Blue Flag status for the 17th year running.

Teignbridge District Council is pleased to announce the beach can continue to proudly fly the prestigious flag in the internationally recognised award scheme.

Alongside Dawlish Warren’s achievement, Teignmouth Town Beach, Coryton Cove at Dawlish and Ness Cove at Shaldon have all won high-profile Seaside Awards.

Man survives 60 ft drop in Dawlish

A man in his seventies suffered only ' minor injuries' after his car plowed 60ft over a cliff like underground.

The incident occured at around 2.30pm near The Mount Pleasant Inn in Dawlish Warren today ( Sunday 2nd February).

Emergency services from the Fire Service, the police and the coastal service were called.

Craig Timms, Manager of the pub, said:

" A man aged about 71 plowed through our car park fence in his BMW. It is about a 60ft drop. It didn't affect us at all, but a fence is replaceable! We wish the man the best and hope he has a speedy recovery...
