A man in his seventies suffered only ' minor injuries' after his car plowed 60ft over a cliff like underground.

The incident occured at around 2.30pm near The Mount Pleasant Inn in Dawlish Warren today ( Sunday 2nd February).

Emergency services from the Fire Service, the police and the coastal service were called.

Craig Timms, Manager of the pub, said:

" A man aged about 71 plowed through our car park fence in his BMW. It is about a 60ft drop. It didn't affect us at all, but a fence is replaceable! We wish the man the best and hope he has a speedy recovery."

The man was taken away with only ' slight injuries' by air ambulance.

All the Emergency services were unavailable for comment at time of publication.
