The Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC) has awarded a £598,860 grant to PassivSystems to develop a new heating platform with WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff that will lead to a reduction in energy demand, heat network operating costs and, ultimately, cut consumer heating bills.

Cranbrook has been shortlisted in the ‘Affordable Housing Development of the Year’ category, and will now compete with five other developments to try to win over the judges and become category winner.

Cranbrook’s first ever town council members have been elected.
There are 12 vacancies on the new body that will be set up to manage local governance for the new community.
Nine people stepped forward for the seats on the new town council and so all nine are duly elected uncontested.
The new council is quorate (it has enough members to carry out its duties) but there will be an opportunity to co-opt three more members in the future.

Rangers from East Devon District Council’s Countryside team have been out and about over recent weeks sharing their knowledge with visitors to Bicton College and Cranbrook. At Bicton College’s Lambing Sunday (22 March) the team also showed off their newly redesigned trailer for the first time.
