Cranbrook in top 60 developments

Cranbrook, East Devon’s new community has been named one of the Top 60 Developments for 2015 by Inside Housing magazine.

Cranbrook has been shortlisted in the ‘Affordable Housing Development of the Year’ category, and will now compete with five other developments to try to win over the judges and become category winner.

The Top 60 Developments celebrate success and innovation in delivering new homes. The list highlights achievement in ten key areas, from design to sustainability. In each area, the best development will be chosen and awarded a winner’s trophy.

The category winners will be unveiled at a ceremony on Friday 16 October at the Lancaster London Hotel to celebrate the Top 60 and award the trophies.

Cllr Andrew Moulding, Deputy Leader of East Devon District Council said: “This is superb news. We are delighted that Cranbrook has been recognised again on a national level for the work we are doing with our partners to make a difference to the lives of local people.

"There is stiff competition in the affordable housing category and we look forward to the outcome in October.” 

Kevin Blakey, Chairman of Cranbrook Town Council added: “All the residents of Cranbrook will be pleased that the town has been shortlisted. The development of the new town, which is still less than 20% complete, has a significant proportion of good quality affordable housing within a diverse community, that has already come together with an exceptional community spirit and sense of identity.”
