Cranbrook’s first ever town council members have been elected.

There are 12 vacancies on the new body that will be set up to manage local governance for the new community.

Nine people stepped forward for the seats on the new town council and so all nine are duly elected uncontested.

The new council is quorate (it has enough members to carry out its duties) but there will be an opportunity to co-opt three more members in the future.

A notice announcing the result of the search for new town councillors  is on display at Younghayes community centre.

Candidates are as follows: Kevin Blakey, Kim Bloxham, Nigel Grimshire, Sarah Gunn, Maria Hale, Karen Jennings, Nick Partridge, Phil Tucker and Shaun West.
