The star attraction will be Rutter's Requiem (1985), written in memory of his father and his desire that music should be accessible to a wide audience, and as a result of a chance encounter with the original manuscipt of Faure's Requiem in Paris. Beethoven’s magnificent Missa Solemnis , widely considered to be his greatest choral work yet rarely performed in the South West, will be brought to life this March through the combined talent of Exeter Philharmonic Choir , the renowned English Chamber Orchestra and four international soloists.
The one-night performance of this theatrical, yet spiritual work celebrates Beethoven’s 250th birthday. Exeter Philharmonic Choir is the city’s longest-established choral group, soon to mark a major milestone of its own - its 175th anniversary.

We will also sing:- The hauntingly atmospheric Northern Lights by Ola Gjeilo, Gaudete, O Holy Night, For Unto Us a Child is Born (from Handel’s Messiah), Winter Wonderland, and I Wonder as I Wander and a selection of carols with audience participation. Wine or soft drinks and mince pies will be brought to you in the interval.

The Concert 'Swing into Christmas' brings the curtain down on the Crediton Parish Church Christmas Tree Festival, which runs from Wed 4th Dec to Sun 8th Dec. 'Swing into Christmas' features Andrew Daldorph on Piano, Chris Gradwell on Clarinet and Jim Rintoull on Double Bass.
Refreshments are available and there is free parking.

This is our fifth annual CLIC for Christmas concert raising funds for CLIC Sargent. Once again, we will be hosting a celebration of Christmas in the beautiful Exeter Cathedral and will be joined by one of the winners of our Devon Schools Choir Competition, Exmouth Community College. In addition we are again thrilled to be welcoming the CLIC Sargent singers, a group of exceptionally talented young people who have all benefitted from the support of CLIC Sargent and will be sharing their stories with us as well as their beautiful music.
