Celebrating 20 years of Exeter Comedy Club events at the Corn Exchange.

The first show took place on 14 February 1997 and since then Exeter Comedy Club has featured some amazing acts from the national stand-up circuit. Including many who have gone on to be major stars of the comedy world.

Business Club helps Exeter good causes

Exeter Business Club members have once again put their hands in their pockets to help city charities by making their annual charity donation to the Exeter Foundation. Trustee Keiron Northcott accepted the cheque for £1,610 on behalf of the Foundation from co-chairs Alison Jobson and Emma Steele plus members of the club at their Friday meeting. Mr Northcott outlined the work of the Foundation which was created by Exeter Chiefs and city businessmen to act as a fundraising body on behalf of the city’s most deserving causes and projects.

New kit for Devon gymnastics club

Teign View Gymnastics Club in Devon is celebrating after receiving a new balancing beam extender.

The kit was presented to members of the team by electricity company Western Power Distribution (WPD).

Tom Halfyard, who works for the company and whose daughter is part of the team, said: “This is such a generous donation and it will mean a lot to the members of the club.”

A team from the Tesco Extra Exeter Vale store donated has donated Tesco gift cards in the value of £100 for this year’s Wonford Community Centre & Learning Centre over 50’s raffle.

Colleagues from the store, in the shopping centre on Russell Way hand delivered the gift cards, as well as various other prizes valued at a total of £100 to the Wondford Community Centre’s raffle, held at the centre on Burnthouse Lane, Exeter. Kevan's Onesie Challenge

Exeter Business Club celebrated their last meeting of the year with member Kevan Lush fulfilling his promise to turn up in his Christmas onesie if members pledged £100 to the Club's charity fund.

The £100 target was quickly met with many members entering in the spirit by turning up in Christmas jumpers.

Exeter's newest nightclub, Rosies, is set to take Exeter by storm following a £750,000 transformation.

Future looks bright for Chiefs' youngsters

Exeter Chiefs Academy manager Robin Cowling says it’s imperative young players at the club are exposed to senior rugby through link-ups with local senior clubs.

Exeter to host new deaf-inclusive active outdoors club

On Wednesday 8 June, from 7-9pm, local charity Exeter Deaf Academy is inviting Deaf people and their families to a free opening of the new Active Outdoors Community Club, at Haven Banks Outdoor Education Centre, on Exeter Quay.

Thanks to funding from Awards for All England, who have awarded a lottery grant of £4,655 towards this yearlong community project, the new Deaf-inclusive club will be offering taster sessions of canoeing, kayaking, archery, sailing and caving in an accessible environment.
