Exeter Northcott Theatre is delighted to announce its 2017 Christmas show will be the traditional family pantomime Dick Whittington.

The show will see a spectacular return to the Exeter Northcott tradition of producing its own pantomimes.

Steve Bennett returns as the Dame, a role he played previously at the Northcott for 14 years, and will be directed by one of the country’s leading pantomime directors, Tony Lidington.

Cinderella visits Exeter Corn Exchange this Christmas

Following the record-breaking success of 'Beauty & the Beast' last Christmas, Kickline is delighted to announce that CINDERELLA will be coming to the Exeter Corn Exchange this Christmas!

Professional panto is now in its eighth year at the central Exeter venue, where it has built a distinctive reputation for magical story-telling, great songs and very messy slapstick, all performed by top West End performers.

Fancy dress raises £1,245 for Devon Air Ambulance

After a vote from all of the staff at Bishop Fleming's Exeter office to decide on the Partners attire for the fancy dress Christmas party, the winner was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs with the proviso that Partner and Head of Tax, Andrew Browne became Snow White for the evening.

Andrew took a bit of convincing and therefore as an incentive to become Snow White for one night only, decided to use the opportunity to raise funds for Devon Air Ambulance.

A total of £1,245 was raised for the charity showing that not all Christmas parties need to be completely self-indulgent....

Festive fun for residents at Sidmouth’s Lymebourne Community Centre

A festive evening of song and Christmas decorations lit up Sidmouth’s Lymebourne Community Centre recently as tenants and residents from both Lymebourne and Arcot Park celebrated the season.

It’s the second year that East Devon District Council’s Community Development Team and mobile support officers have organised the Light Up Lymebourne event and this year Arcot Park residents took part too. The event is now called 'Light Up Lymebourne and Arcot' and the two communities are encouraged to decorate their windows and enter a competition to win the best Christmas lights display....

Over 250 gifts donated to RGB’s Christmas Present Appeal

The generous local community and customers of RGB Building Supplies donated in excess of 250 gifts to the builders merchant’s Christmas Present Appeal in aid of Children’s Hospice South West.

RGB had been calling out for donations suitable for a child of any age or their parents and the gifts have now been given to Children’s Hospice South West to distribute to children and families.

Samaritans volunteers on duty over festive period

In a typical month the Exeter, Mid and East Devon branch of the Samaritans charity receives 1,800 telephone calls from people in distress - and that figure increases in December and especially around Christmas time.

Those calls - along with SMS text messages, emails and face-to-face meetings - are dealt with by some 100 volunteers who work at the central Exeter base of the charity.

Firms combine talents to bring festive cheer to Exeter shoppers

Top 40 accountants Bishop Fleming and Top 200 lawyers Stephens Scown, both with head offices based in Exeter, joined forces last Friday (16 December) to bring Christmas cheer to the shoppers of Princesshay.

The firms' choirs, ABBA-cus (Bishop Fleming) and The Rolling Scowns (Stephens Scown) provided a joint performance of Christmas songs to help Exeter shoppers get into the festive spirit whilst also raising valuable funds for Age UK Exeter.
