Princesshay is marking its 10th Christmas in Exeter creating a truly festive atmosphere with Christmas lights, live festive performances and even granting Christmas wishes.

The festivities will start in Princesshay Square on Thursday 16th November from 4pm – 7.30pm, as Exeter BID presents the annual Christmas Lights Switch On and officially begin the Christmas countdown. The evening’s line-up includes a performance of traditional carols from a local school, followed by live music and festive entertainment. Princesshay and Visit Exeter have announced dates for two large-scale street performances coming to the city centre this festive season.

One of the shows, Spark! is a mesmerising thirty minute group display that combines high impact drumming with kaleidoscopic lighting. Three separate shows will be held on Thursday 7th December at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm on. Each performance will begin in Princesshay Square and slowly move around the centre, enchanting shoppers.

Arco street performance in Princesshay, Exeter Princesshay and Visit Exeter have announced dates for two large-scale street performances coming to the city centre this festive season.

The first of the two free shows is ‘Arco’, a magnificent fifteen minute display of acrobatics, performed to music from a 12 metre high inflated arch. Three 15 minute performances starting at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm will wow shoppers in Princesshay Square on Thursday 30th November. The giant arch features its own light show, changing colour while framing the amazing aerial performer.

This year Roman Walk in Princesshay, Exeter will become home to 35 Christmas Trees as part of the annual Charity Christmas Tree Festival.

The Charity Christmas Tree Festival will officially be opened by the Lord Mayor on Friday 17th November at 5pm, and will feature its own mini lights switch on as part of the celebrations. The Christmas Tree Festival will include thirty-five trees decorated by various local charities including Children’s Hospice South West, Princesshay’s charity of the year. The trees will stay in place for Princesshay visitors to enjoy until Christmas Eve....

Hospiscare’s Light Up a Life event takes place annually in the run up to Christmas, a particularly poignant time of year for many bereaved people. The services offer a time and space apart to remember and honour loved ones who are no longer with us. With a blend of readings, poetry, music and the opportunity to join voices in singing carols, these occasions bring at least as much joy as sadness and are never less than uplifting.

Humbug! Brand new Christmas show set to delight audiences in Exeter's newly re-opened St Nicholas Priory.

Award-winning film and theatre company, Wandering Tiger, are staging Humbug! their brand new Christmas show at Exeter's historic St Nicholas Priory from Thursday 14 – Sunday 24 December 2017.

CLIC for Christmas 2017 - final lineup revealed

On 5th October, the finalists from the Devon Schools Choir Competition, run by La La Choirs, took centre stage at Southernhay URC and competed for a chance to perform in Exeter Cathedral at the annual sell out concert, CLIC for Christmas. Five choirs had been shortlisted and all the choirs at the final sang two songs each. Yet again, the standard was incredibly high, giving the judging panel a really hard time deciding between them.
