Activities include facepainting, games, crafts and tabletop sale. Tea and cake will also be available for sale with funds going to support the work of Barnabas Fund.

Exeter’s Summer Film School will be held at Poltimore House from 3 – 7 August.

It offers children aged between 10 and 13 a unique opportunity to create their own short film. They will be supported in this task by skilled and experienced film and theatre professionals including Exeter based theatre company Four of Swords and shooting on location at the incredibly magical and atmospheric Poltimore House.

Exeter based theatre company Four of Swords is not pausing for breath after two weeks of sold-out performances of Jason and The Argonauts at Exmouth Festival.

The company is reprising its Arthurian legend based family blockbuster Gawain and The Green Knight from 8 - 11 July at Poltimore House, the atmospheric semi-derelict country house on the outskirts of Exeter.

Buckfast Festival defies the weather

The first day of the Buckfast Abbey Storytelling Festival was a great success with schools despite the torrential rain, which threatened to make it a wash-out.

The day started off well but just as the schools were about to do their first sessions with the host of well-known storytellers, who had come to the Abbey for this unique event, the skies just opened.

Many paths were flooded and the storytelling tent of Footprints Theatre Company from Nottingham let in so much water that they had to abandon it and retreat to an inside space.

A week of Wild West fun in Exeter

This summer Miracle Theatre, Exeter Phoenix and Farms For City Children are teaming up to bring a week of wild west fun to Exeter.
