Brewin Dolphin fundraises for young hearts

Eight Exeter-based businesses have competed in a mixed netball competition to raise nearly £500 for Jay’s Aim – a charity focused on reducing the number of young people who die from sudden cardiac death in the South West.

Organised by wealth management company Brewin Dolphin, the hotly-contested event took place in the sports hall at the University of Exeter’s Streatham campus. Princesshay has announced Living Options Devon as its charity of the year for 2019. The Devon-based charity works to ensure that people with disabilities and Deaf people have the opportunity to live the life they choose.

Devon's rowers finish Atlantic challenge to build plastic-free legacy

Row for the Ocean has completed the world's toughest row to raise awareness of ocean plastic pollution for South West charity Surfers Against Sewage.

The four-woman team, three of whom belong to Exeter Rowing Club, were the first all-female crew to reach the finish line of the 2018/19 Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.

With 3,000 miles behind them, the ocean adventurers arrived in Antigua after 43 days, 2 hours and 20 minutes at sea.

Ottery family's fundraising bash nets £1,000 for Pete's Dragons

A family from Ottery St Mary have raised nearly £1,000 for the suicide bereavement charity that gave them ‘incredible’ support following the heart-breaking loss of a loved-one.

Gemma Youlden organised a New Year’s Eve party at the town’s cricket club to boost Pete’s Dragons, a service she had never imagined needing.

The cause provided ‘amazing’ help and comfort following the death of her brother Rob, aged 28, in March last year.

Darts Farm Santa's Grotto raises funds for Hospiscare

One of the highlights of the festive period is a visit to Father Christmas. Last month, Father Christmas was stationed at Darts Farm throughout December in his magical grotto raising a fantastic £2,385.40 for local charity, Hospiscare. Each visitor paid £5 to visit Father Christmas and was presented with a Darts Farm goodie bag.

Help Exeter builders merchant come out on top in fundraising challenge

The Exeter branch of RGB Building Supplies is holding a day of fundraising on Thursday 31st January as it aims to raise as much money as possible for Children’s Hospice South West.

All 20 RGB branches are taking part in the charity’s £50 Challenge where they will go head-to-head against each other to see which depot can raise the most amount of money, after spending no more than £50 on developing a fundraising activity.

The Exeter branch is inviting customers and the local community to visit and help staff with their fundraising efforts.

Force raises thousands as Princesshay's charity of the year

FORCE Cancer Charity has announced that more than £10,000 has been raised through fundraising activities and events in Princesshay, as the centre’s nominated charity of the year for 2018.
