Valuables stolen from car in East Devon

Police officers from Ottery St Mary are reminding people to take their personal items with them after a parked car was broken into and valuables stolen.

The theft took place just before 3pm and 4.30pm on Thursday 13 August at White Cross Cark Park, East Hill, Ottery St Mary.

A blue Nissan X-Trail had the window smashed and personal items worth over a thousand pounds was stolen.

Amongst the items stolen was a pink iPhone 5, a black Mulberry wallet, Pierre Cardin glasses, a large blue leather handbag, cash and credit cards.

Renew your tax credits or lose them

The deadline to renew tax credits is fast approaching and if you do not complete the forms and return them the HMRC by 31 July you risk losing them entirely, ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is warning today.

Serious accident in Exeter city centre

Emergency services were called to a serious accident in Exeter city centre earlier this afternoon.

The incident happened at the top of Fore Street at around 1pm.

Fore Street is currently closed in both directions between the Bartholomew Street West junction and the Market Street junction.

Oil tanker collision leaves woman injured

A serious collision between an oil tanker and a car closed the A35 near Honiton for several hours today.

Two fire appliances from Honiton, one appliance from Colyton, the Heavy Rescue Vehicle from Middlemoor and the water carrier from Danes Castle were sent to a report of a road traffic collision involving a car and an oil tanker near Home Farm Hotel in Wilmington, near Honiton shortly after 11am.

On arrival crews confirmed that the collision involved a car and a road tanker and that one female person was trapped in the car.

Police are appealing to the public to look out for a distinctive Ford Cortina stolen from Topsham over Christmas.

The fern green Mk3 Ford Cortina was left parked near to St Matthew’s Hall in Fore Street around 7.30pm on 23 December.

The owner returned around 2pm on Christmas Eve to find the car missing.

Now police are urging the public to keep an eye out for the car and report any sightings to them.

The car, valued at £1,000, is described as having patchy paintwork and the interior is in poor condition. It carries the registration number YTA 700K.

Free parking for Exeter Christmas shoppers

Christmas shoppers are being offered free parking after 5pm in Exeter City Council run pay and display car parks.

The offer runs from Thursday 20 November until Wednesday 24 December.

Those parking prior to 5pm will only be required to purchase a ticket until 5pm, whilst for those arriving after this time parking will be absolutely free.
