Shopping for a friend’s birthday present at Princesshay Shopping Centre in Exeter generated a lovely surprise for the giver – a new vehicle worth nearly £24,000.

Gina, 45, a customer service advisor from Exmouth, paid £2 for the Children’s Hospice South West’s charity draw, with the Toyota C-HR donated by Snows Toyota in Exeter.

Collision between car and tractor outside Mill on the Exe pub

Devon and Somerset Fire and rescue service received a call from ambulance crews reporting a collision between a car and a tractor on Bonhay Road, Exeter.

The accident happened outsude the Mill on the Exe pub at 7.31pm yesterday (November 10).

Two pumps from Danes Castle, one from Topsham and a heavy rescue tender from Middlemoor were immediately mobilised by fire control.

On arrival the officer in charge confirmed one car and one tractor had been involved in a road traffic collision with one casualty physically trapped in the vehicle.

A children’s hospice in the South West is to be given a charity Christmas boost after an automotive retailer and a shopping centre joined forces. Used car dealer found guilty of selling 'dangerous' vehicle

A used car dealer from Teignmouth has been found guilty of supplying a dangerous and unroadworthy vehicle with faulty brakes.

Jamie Stuart Rabin, 36, of Bank Street, Teignmouth, was ordered to pay a total of £6,594.25 in fines, costs, victim’s surcharge and compensation at Plymouth Magistrates Court on Thursday 8 June.

Rabin, who changed his plea at the last minute, sold the Renault Trafic Van in 2016 from his dealership, Finnish Car Sales, in Dawlish.

Police are appealing for information after an Exmouth man’s vehicle was damaged by vandals.

The black VW Jetta was targeted by three men around 10.55pm on Saturday 29 April in Cleveland Place, Exmouth.

The roof of the vehicle was dented causing approximately £4000 worth of damage.

After the incident, the men walked through the alleyway next to Garners Home Hardware and onto The Strand.

Exmouth man's car targeted by vandals

Police are appealing for information after an Exmouth man’s vehicle was targeted by vandals five times in four months.

The blue VW Golf has been persistently targeted since November with more than £7,000 damage scratched into the paintwork.

The vehicle was parked in various locations in the Morton Road and St Andrews Road areas when the incidents happened.

The offences began on Sunday 27 November last year when all of the car’s panels were scratched during the daytime in Morton Road. Offensive words were also etched on the bonnet.

Dog allegedly thrown from car on A38

Police attended the services near Kennford, Exeter at around 2pm today after reports of a dog being thrown from a vehicle on the A38.

A black King Charles Spaniel was found injured in the area with suspected broken legs and has been since taken to the vets for treatment.

At this time, police only have third hand reports of how the dog came to be on the road and how it sustained its injuries.

Firefighters rescue woman trapped under car

Firefighters have rescued a woman who became trapped under a car in Exmouth.

Crews were called to Brixington Lane in the town at 6.45pm yesterday.

Fire engines from Exmouth, along with a heavy rescue vehicle from Middlemoor were sent to an incident where a lady was trapped underneath a car by her shoulder and arm.

The crews used airbags, chocks and a tirfor winch to lift the vehicle off the casualty who was then taken to Derriford Hospital.
