Have your say on new public green space at Station Road in Broadclyst

Local people are being invited to share their views on 25 acres of land, acquired by East Devon District Council (EDDC), for a new nature-rich, accessible green space.

The new green space is an important milestone in the creation of the Clyst Valley Regional Park. A public consultation begins 6th February at 10am for six weeks until 20th March 2023 at 4pm , on draft proposals for habitat creation, a multi-use trail, network of circular paths and a small car park.

Thirty very worthy projects have been funded by East Devon District Council’s Coronavirus Community Food Fund, giving out a total of over £45,000. This fund provides grants for any projects related to providing food to residents of East Devon who are in food poverty during the Coronavirus situation.\

Broadclyst residents call for action over school traffic chaos

A group of Devon villagers are protesting that their village has been turned into a 'giant school car park' and are calling for a national conversation about the school commute.

Broadclyst, near Exeter, has 527 pupils and 88 members of staff at its primary school causing huge pressures on the village.

Broadclyst gets new night landing site for Devon Air Ambulance

Devon Air Ambulance will now be able to land safely in Broadclyst at night due to a new community landing site at Broadclyst Recreation Field. New landing site lighting, operated remotely by the Helicopter Emergency Medical Services, has been installed at the Recreation Field to facilitate emergency night operations. This new facility is partly funded by East Devon District Council and Devon County Council through their Parishes Together Fund, and partly funded by Devon Air Ambulance (DAA) through funding from the Bank Libor fines. Children in last term’s Year 2 and Year 4 at Broadclyst Community Primary School (BCPS) are thrilled to have won the Devon History Society Primary School History Prize the first time it has been awarded. Broadclyst School children record their own school advert at Heart Radio

Ten children from Year 6 at Broadclyst Community Primary School helped to devise and record their own radio advert for the school’s open days at Global Radio HQ in Exeter on 3 November.

The youngsters are currently taking part in the school’s Global Enterprise Challenge, an annual business enterprise initiative that incorporates a wide range of business skills while encompassing many different elements of the school curriculum.
