Local mums launch pop up children's market in Exeter

Two local mums are launching a brand new pop up children’s market this month. The Cheeki Monkeys preloved sale will open it’s doors at the end of the month and, along with lots of bargains for mums and dads to browse, will also feature a ton of exciting entertainment for the kids. Taster sessions will be available from Rugby Tots, Pyjama Drama and Urban Flow to keep the little ones amused whilst the grown ups shop. The event will also include a bouncy castle, face painting, colouring contest and much more!

Police continue to investigate baby's death

Devon and Cornwall police are continuing to investigating the death on an 8-month-old boy in Brownhills Road, Newton Abbot on 15th June.

Post mortem and toxicology reports have not identified a cause of death and therefore the death remains unexplained.

A 27-year-old man was questioned and bailed in connection with this matter. We can confirm that in light of the post mortem and toxicology reports, his bail has now been cancelled and no further policing action will be taken against him at this time.

Further examinations are currently taking place and we await these...

A 27-year-old man has been released on police bail following the death of a baby boy in Newton Abbot.

Police said the man has been released until early August pending enquiries.

The circumstances of the child’s death continue to be investigated and are being viewed as unexplained rather than suspicious.

Police were informed of the death of the eight-month-old boy by ambulance staff on Wednesday morning (15 June).

Devon and Cornwall police are investigating the death on an 8-month-old boy in Brownhills Road, Newton Abbot.

A spokesperson for Devon & Cornwall Police said: "Officers were called by the ambulance just after 10.30am this morning (15th June) informing us of the death.

"Police and scenes of crime officers have attended the house to undertake initial investigations and we are currently treating the death as unexplained.

"A 27-year-old man is in police custody in connection with this matter and awaits questioning."

Police were called just after 2pm on Sunday 22nd May after items of huge sentimental importance were stolen from a white Honda Estate which was parked near the commercial boat builders on Water Lane, Alphington, Exeter.

Baby rescued from locked garage

A three-month-old baby was rescued from a locked garage in Newton Abbot today.

Firefighters from Newton Abbot were sent to the garage in Jetty Marsh Road just after 11am, following a call reporting a car with a baby inside, which had been accidently locked in a garage.

Crews rescued the baby girl by gaining access to the garage via a ground floor window and used small tools to gain entry to the vehicle.

The baby was reunited her mother, uninjured.

Duchess gives birth to a baby girl

The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a baby girl.

The baby was delivered at 8.34am and the Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth.

A statement from Kensington palace said: "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a daughter at 8.34am.

"The baby weighs 8lbs 3oz.
