The NHS in Devon is offering advice to people aged over 70 on how to contact the NHS about getting a coronavirus vaccine.
Yesterday (8 February), the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Matt Hancock, encouraged anyone over 70 who has not yet been vaccinated to get in touch with the NHS about booking an appointment.
In Devon, there are two main ways for people aged over 70 to contact the NHS to book a vaccination:
Local GP services – GP practices are working together to offer the vaccine to their patients.
A largescale analysis led by the University of Exeter and funded by Diabetes UK, has found a disproportionately higher COVID-19 death risk in middle-aged people with type 2 diabetes, raising questions over vaccination strategies across Europe.
The study, accepted for publication in Diabetologia , found that compared to people of a similar age without type 2 diabetes, the additional COVID-19 mortality risk from having type 2 diabetes increases the younger someone is. Although the risk is low in absolute terms, the increase has a significant potential to impact middle-aged people...

What is the best way to share my WI-FI with my neighbours if you want to save money together?
Good WI-FI has become as important a resource as water and electricity these days, which is why many also argue for declaring it a basic need. But until then, it's a matter of finding a fair contract. DSL Internet access is now available from individual providers for as little as 20 USD. However, the connection can sometimes be prolonged, depending on the location and product. So it's better to have a line with a data rate of 100 Mbit/s, but that's going to hit your wallet.

Devon’s gritters have treated secondary routes already today, and the main salting routes will be treated this afternoon and again in the early hours.
Boots Hearingcare , the leading private hearing care provider in the UK, is calling on Brits to improve the quality of their life, with the business estimating that as many as FOUR MILLION people are enduring the early signs of hearing loss unnecessarily.
An early 2020 study showed that there were 11 million people with hearing loss in the UK - a number that is estimated to grow to 14.2 million by 2035 - while approximately 8.8 million of that figure already are seeking support and help, either through the public or private sector.
Amongst the terrible human cost of the Covid-19 crisis, the impact on our country’s young people and their prospects is of major concern. Research published last year by the Resolution Foundation suggested that youth unemployment will not return to pre-pandemic levels for at least another four years, with unemployment between 18 to 29-year-olds predicted to mushroom to levels last seen in the 1980s before the picture improves.
New initiatives to help young people have been launched by governments across the UK to help deliver new employment opportunities and ensure this critical...
