Apple Mac Museum opens at Exeter College

Exeter School of Art student Sophie Bruce and her team have created what is believed to be the only exhibition celebrating the history of the Apple Mac in the UK.

The Mac Museum exhibit opened last week at the college’s new Institute of Technology Digital and Data Centre (IoT) and will be on display throughout the summer.

The Heart of the South West LEP has secured £750,000 of funding from the Department for Education’s National Skills Fund to extend its current programme of Skills Bootcamps across the region.

Comprising flexible courses lasting up to 16 weeks’ duration, the eight additional Skills Bootcamps offer adults aged 19 or over the opportunity to build up or retrain in specific digital skills required by employers across the Heart of the South West LEP area, as well as in Dorset, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, and the West of England.

Potentially lethal virus eliminated at HMP Exeter

HMP Exeter has become one of the first prisons in England to have eliminated a potentially fatal virus from its population in time for World Hepatitis Day on Wednesday (28 July).

Exeter's Riverside Leisure Centre reopens

The pool and health suite at Exeter’s Riverside Leisure Centre has re-opened after a four-year closure.

Millions of pounds have been spent on refurbishing the building, following a fire in February 2017 which closed the entire facility for months.

The gym and sports halls were back in operation later that year, but whilst fire damage was being repaired, unrelated structural weaknesses were revealed.
