LiveWest set to build 218 rural homes in Devon over the next two years

A leading housing association is set to build 218 homes in rural areas across Devon over the next two years.

In a week when the housing sector celebrates Rural Housing Week – a yearly event organised by the National Housing Federation – LiveWest has demonstrated its commitment to rural housing by building 508 rural homes in the past two years.

LiveWest has invested close to £44m in rural homes during the last financial year having built 264 homes in rural areas.

Bringing a charity’s wish one step closer

A Devon charity providing round-the-clock care for vulnerable people with mental health issues has been awarded £1,000 by a local housebuilder to help adapt an ageing hospital building to support its clients.

New bus network confirmed for Exeter to reflect post-pandemic travel patterns

Stagecoach has today unveiled plans for a more sustainable bus network to attract greater passenger numbers over the long term.

Changes are confirmed for Exeter today, in the first step toward a new bus network, reflecting the changed travel patterns following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Police join forces to tackle drugs across the South West

Operation Scorpion is a joined-up collaboration between the five police forces in the South West region (Avon and Somerset, Dorset, Devon and Cornwall, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire), alongside their respective offices of Police and Crime Commissioners, the British Transport Police, South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SW ROCU) and the charity Crimestoppers to combine resources to tackle drug supply and make the South West a hostile environment for drugs.
