The completed feature will include seating, interpretation panels and chess and draughts boards where people can play their own games.

The £35,000 refurbishment of Seafield Gardens in Seaton to replace a broken, worn out and costly water feature is an important scheme for the town and has involved the community at every stage.

Work is expected to be completed in five weeks, but it is a complex project involving...

Test an elderly person's smoke alarm and help save a life

As well as encouraging you to test your smoke alarms regularly, Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue are working alongside a Fire Kills campaign to encourage you to test the smoke alarms of older relatives, friends and neighbours.

Testing smoke alarms can often be a tricky operation for an older person. The position of the alarm makes it harder to reach as well as the changing of the batteries.

Did you know they are four times more likely to die in a fire if they do not have a working smoke alarm?

An early warning is vital for everyone to make a safe escape in a...

University of Exeter just miss out against Okehampton Argyle

The Students put up a tough fight but failed to match Okehampton's three in an energetic match between two close rivals of the South West Peninsular Division One.

University of Exeter missed several opportunities to take the lead in a fairly even start, but it was Argyle who struck first with a strong header from a corner after quarter of an hour played. Their lead lasted just four minutes though, as a fantastic looping shot from outside the box put the home side on level terms temporarily.

This was until an equally...

Apparently there was an outbreak of Blitz Spirit this afternoon. What on earth is going on? The Ministry of Historical Defence were on hand to reassure the public that this was merely a leak of history and that we should not be alarmed or panic. We were instead handed business cards and encouraged to report any other siting of History Leaks to their website or on twitter.

Apparently there will be a public event to sort it all out on Saturday 23rd February in Belmont Park.

For all this fuss, it better be worth it.
