Preview: Bristol Rovers v Exeter City
Exeter City will be hoping that they can repeat their weekend success this Wednesday evening when they visit in-form West Country rivals Bristol Rovers.

Having brushed aside Northampton Town 3-0 on Saturday, the Grecians will have renewed belief that the push for promotion is by and large in their own hands – other results from around npower League 2 fortunately went in Exeter’s favour too.  The team will also be hoping that this match doesn’t prove to be a banana skin – which it often has been in the past – and will look to build on the seven victories that they’ve accrued in 41 visits to the Memorial Stadium.

We should’ve known better than to assume we’d be seeing the back of the Gas at the end of this season.  At the turn of the year, Rovers were rock bottom of League 2 and looked set to lose their Football League status for the first time since their admittance in 1920, but a great run of form this calendar year has lifted them to 17th place.  Rumour has it that former Grecian Matthew Gill is looking to help his old team out by having a bad day at the office; so the very least we can expect from him is to avoid scoring his first goal for the Gas on Wednesday evening.  There hasn’t been a 5-5 draw between these two sides since the 1934/35 season, so the odds aren’t too high for a repeat of this, but there is little doubt that this will be a cracking game nonetheless.
