Eventing’s stars of the future will be out in force at Bicton Arena’s affiliated horse trials this weekend with Emily King, recently named as a squad member for the Junior Europeans in France next month, among the entries.

Emily, from Sidmouth in East Devon, recently finished third in the advanced section at the Festival of British Eventing on Brookleigh, a horse she has entered in the open intermediate class at Bicton.

Local charities are winners thanks to Yorkshire Building Society staff and customers

Yorkshire Building Society in Exeter announced the voting in their Charity Choices ballot today - and ELF won the top prize of £500.

Thank you so much to the staff who nominated us and all of the customers who voted for us, and to the Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Trust for funding the awards.

Also winners were Hospicare (£300) and Balloons (£200).

Staff at the branch have been wonderfully supportive of ELF recently and all three charities were delighted with their awards.

Devon Air Ambulance Trust to celebrate 21st Birthday at Darts Farm

It's been a busy few months for Devon Air Ambulance Trust, and there's no let up in sight, but they wouldn't have it any other way!

The Devon Air Ambulance on Tour event, taking the new Air Ambulance around the county finished in Paignton on Tuesday 13 August. The Charity is now looking forward to celebrating its 21st birthday in style with a Birthday Weekender on 7 and 8 September at Darts Farm.

To celebrate our 21st birthday we will be holding our 21st Birthday Weekender at Darts Farm on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September.

Exeter School pleased with Results

Exeter School pupils, parents and staff are celebrating another set of very good A Level results with an overall pass rate of 100% for the tenth year in a row. 18% of all grades were A* and 56% of grades were either A* or A. 84% of all grades were A* - B. There were many high achievers with over one third of pupils achieving three or more A* or A grades. Two in Hospital after Crash near Sidmouth

Air ambulances and fire crews were called to the two vehicle traffic collision at 9:13 this morning.

The incident took place on the A375 Putts Corner, Sidbury.

One person was still trapped inside a vehicle and one person from the second vehicle still inside the vehicle but not trapped and was being attended to by Ambulance personnel.

Fire crews removed the roof of the vehicle with hydraulic rescue equipment to extricate the casualty.

Both are now in Hospital - The female driver of a Citroen was airlifted to The Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital with non-life...
