Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter says his players should relish the challenge of tackling Europe's elite when they kick-off their Heineken Cup campaign at home to Cardiff Blues on Sunday (12.45pm). Sapphire Living Space, based in Topsham, celebrated their first Birthday last Friday evening with style and were joined by special guests Michael Caines and Naomi Cleaver and over 100 guests.

The organisation responsible for monitoring the destruction of chemical weapons in Syria has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee awarded the 2013 Prize to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) for its extensive efforts to eliminate chemical weapons.

Everys Solicitors have teamed up with Sidmouth RFC as first team sponsors for the 2013/14 season.

The firm, which has an office in the High Street, has committed to continuing its sponsorship of the club and the Everys logo can be seen on the front of the first team shirts.

Sidmouth RFC was founded in 1884 and the club plays its home games at Blackmore in Heydons Lane. The first team plays in the South West One West league.

For Exeter-based artist and former national school-boy sportsman Stuart Wright, gorillas loom large. A plush gorilla toy has travelled everywhere with him since he was two years old. And now he has painted a three-dimensional life-sized gorilla – in his garage.
