Exeter public sector workers could be owed a share of £2.6m for mis-sold top-up pensions

More than 600 public sector workers from Exeter could be owed a share of £2.6million for mis-sold add-on pension schemes, according to leading Exeter-based Financial Claims Management Company EMCAS.

Public sector employees, who make up two fifths (37%) of all workers in Exeter, are being urged to take the time to check whether they could have been mis-sold a Free Standing Additional Voluntary Contributions (FSAVC) policy as a claim could lead to a more comfortable retirement. Art activity family drop-in

This fun half-term activity will involve making brooches, fascinators and bangles from a combination of real and paper-cut lace.

Residents of Pinhoe are being invited to have their say on the proposed Home Farm development at Pinhoe Primary School tonight. Doctors lose their trousers for ELF

Doctors in Cullompton hope their colleague's hospital stay will be a short one and have pledged to raise money for charity in his absence.

Dr Neil Rushton and Dr James Rowbury, who practice at College Surgery, have opted against wearing trousers until Dr Jeremy Jacobs has completed treatment at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital – which could be after winter.

Green light for Hinckley Point C: Britain's first nuclear power station in a generation

The Government have reached an agreement with investors on proposals for a new nuclear power station in the South West. The agreement with energy suppliers, EDF Group means construction could soon begin on Hinkley Point C, in Somerset. It will be the first UK nuclear power station to be built since Sizewell B opened in 1995. The Government has said that Hinkley Point C would be operational from 2023, providing energy to around 6 million homes or an area twice the size of London.
