Hundreds of protestors are expected to gather in Exeter this afternoon (Saturday) to oppose any extension of the badger cull into Devon, Cornwall and Dorset. Protesters will gather in Belmont Park before marching through the city centre and will welcome a range of speakers from several groups opposing the cull. Man charged after Exeter Bank Raid

A 39-year-old man has been charged with robbery following a bank robbery in Exeter city centre on Monday 24 March. Justin Bracken Lee, will appear at Exeter Magistrates' Court today, Friday, 28 March 2014.

Police are investigating the bank robbery which took place at around 1.10pm on Monday at the Natwest in Exeter City Centre.

Mr Bracken Lee is alleged to have told the cashier he was armed and demanded cash.

The male cashier was unharmed but shaken by the ordeal.

RMT appoints acting general secretary

RMT’s executive committee has appointed Mick Cash as acting general secretary to continue the work of the union following the untimely death of Bob Crow. Acting general secretary Mick Cash said that Bob Crow’s vision for the union would continue along with its industrial and political agenda as decided by RMT’s democratic structures.

Mick Cash said: “It has been a difficult time for the union but we are determined to remain united in the way that Bob would have wanted,” .

Dawlish Station Gets Green Re-Opening

Dawlish station has received a green makeover prior to its re-opening thanks to TV gardener Toby Buckland and the Friends of Dawlish Station. 'In-house' service to save thousands

From Tuesday (1 April), Devon County Council will take over the enforcement of on-street parking from local District Councils.

This will create a single countywide service responsible for all on-street parking, with 45 Civil Parking Enforcement officers transferring to the County Council.

The move follows the County Council's review of its Civil Parking Enforcement (CPE) over the past year in order to reduce the operating deficit of this service.
