Fire Service rescue mother and children from bathroom

Firefighters from Middlemoor today helped to free a mother and her two children after they had become stuck in their bathroom.

Crews were called to Digby Drive, Middlemoor, Exeter at 9.16am after reports that an occupant had become stuck in their bathroom.

Crews used a ladder to a first floor window to gain access to the bathroom, and used small tools to release them.

Exeter Samaritans Art and Craft Exhibition

Exeter Samaritans are mounting an Art and Craft exhibition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their first telephone line going live in 1964.

Members of the public are invited to join in the celebrations by adding their thoughts and sketches to a continuum board, putting a stitch to a wall hanging and taking part in a knitting demonstration.

The event will be in St Stephen's Church, High Street, Exeter, from 10am-4pm on June 12 and 13, and 10am-3pm on June 14.

Admissiion is free and there will be a small charge for tea/coffee and home made cake.

Vintage Mini stolen in Ottery St Mary

Police in Ottery St Mary are investigating the theft of a rare vintage car from the town overnight.

The 1968 MKII Austin Mini Cooper was stolen from a car park at Otter Mills Switch Gear on Mill Street.

The owner went out from his home earlier today to find the car had been taken.

The car is white in colour with black wheels and a black roof with the registration mark NDV 919G.

A long-term resident living at a Exeter care home celebrated her 105th birthday yesterday (Friday 30) with a special tour of the Royal Albert Memorial museum (RAMM). Film school offers unique experience for kids

Colourburn, a video and marketing agency located in Southernhay, and Exeter Phoenix have partnered to give kids aged 8 to 12 the opportunity to take part in a unique film school, which will see children create their very own short film and have it screened at a special premiere during ‘Screen on the Green’, which takes place in Northenhay Gardens this August.

Devon Hotels and Restaurants Association raised over £1,000 for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust and Hospitality Action following a charity auction at their Annual Association Dinner, with each charity receiving £500 to put towards the valuable work they do.
