Princess Royal to take the salute in Exeter

Exeter city centre will be full of servicemen and women, past, present and future as it celebrates Armed Forces Day tomorrow (21 June).

As part of the city’s annual celebrations of the work of the Armed Forces, almost 800 servicemen and women from all branches of the armed forces will be marching through the City Centre with Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Lawrence taking the salute at the Guildhall.

Sturgess aims for a return to action

Exeter Chiefs prop Brett Sturgess is hopeful he will get to feature during the club's pre-season build-up as he draws ever nearer to a competitive return.

Allotment holders asked about future of service

Allotment holders in Exeter are being invited to suggest ways in which the City Council can secure the long-term future of allotments in the city in the face of continuing government cuts.

Letters have already been sent to allotment associations in the city asking for people's views on a number of cost-saving options.

SWH praised for work on Topsham Goat Walk

South West Highways has received excellent feedback after completing restoration works on Goat Walk in Topsham, a vital linking pedestrian route that is also of great historic value.

During the heavy storms at the end of January 2014, the historic walk was badly damaged with large sections of the wall collapsing, the concrete slabs making up the surface being displaced and broken and fill material being washed out with every subsequent high tide.
