A Festival will take place in May at Exmouth Rugby Club to celebrate cider made by those people dedicated to keeping Devon's traditional apple varieties and pressing methods alive.

Fire chiefs have welcomed today’s announcement that the government plans to introduce vital life-saving legislation on smoke alarms in rented properties ahead of the General Election.

Stan continues to hit the right note

This year marks a significant milestone for FORCE Cancer Charity and its association with one of the most popular musical icons in the Exeter area.

The Stan Hacking Concert Band is preparing for its 15th performance in aid of the charity and has already raised more than £12,000.

Exeter fire crews rescue trapped dog

Firefighters were called to Exeter Canal this morning after a dog became trapped in a pipe.

The crew from Danes Castle were called to free a Jack Russell dog who had become trapped in a metal pipe at the Double Locks just before noon today.

The crew removed a grate covering the pipe using small tools and successfully rescued the dog.

More SW parents bailing out their children than ever before

With the increase in rental prices and fewer jobs available to young people, more children are relying financially on their parents than ever before.

A study by TopCashback.co.uk, released today, reveals that around three-quarters of parents in the South West admit to helping their children, 18 or over, out of debt in hard times.

Consumers in the South West prefer to do business with businesses employing apprentices, a new report from the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) has revealed.
