Two men have been charged in connection with an incident that took place in the Barrington Street area of Tiverton at 6.30pm on Tuesday 3 March.

Cameron Ashton, 18, of Lumley Street, Liverpool, has been charged with assault and attempted kidnap.

Jonathon James Weston, 22, of Lakenheath Road, Liverpool, has been charged with attempted kidnap and driving a motor vehicle dangerously.

They appeared before Exeter Magistrates' Court on Friday 6 March.

Government must come clean on plans to deal with Devon NHS financial crisis

It is essential the Government comes clean and announces its plans for those NHS areas in the worst financial trouble, including Devon, before the election. Otherwise, the public will quite rightly conclude Ministers are trying to “bury bad news” until after May 7th.

I have it on good authority that the NHS was expecting to announce “intervention and support” regimes for the most “financially distressed” NHS areas at the same time as the new “vanguard” integration pilots, which were unveiled this week. This didn’t happen.

At Prime Minister’s Questions yesterday, my Labour...

Chiefs side to take on the Tigers

Ricky Pellow says Exeter Chiefs will have to be switched on - both individually and collectively - if they are to overcome rivals Leicester Tigers in today's LV= Cup semi-final at Welford Road (1pm). In a position similar to that of 12 months ago when they had to overcome Bath on their own turf, the defending champions need no reminding of what is needed to book their place in the first showpiece final of the 2014/15 season. And according to the Exeter skills coach, it's a challenge Pellow and everyone at Sandy Park are keen to take on as the Chiefs maintain their push for honours on three...

It’s a crisp and sparkling, sunny morning and in my Sigma office overlooking Plymouth’s Royal William Yard, the water’s looking particularly enticing. It’s a gorgeous spot and silently I pat my husband and business partner on the back for his enlightened suggestion to buy premises here 13 years ago, when Cremyll Street was still something of an ‘interesting’ area. I can’t help daydreaming, admiring the nautical view. Right, I must gather my thoughts. Keeping up with news at the moment, let alone getting on top of my workload and the other activities I seem to get involved in, is beginning...
