BBC Radio Devon breakfast show presenter Simon Bates had some unexpected guests drop in (literally) yesterday.
The broadcaster, who lives near Tiverton, told his listeners he was "preparing for a bath and in his Marks & Spencer dressing gown" when there was a knock on the door.
He was surprised to see a stranger - and a hot air balloon, in his "back yard".
The drama was soon over however.
Former Radio 1 DJ Mr Bates said the balloon was packed away and removed within 20 minutes and he was offered a bottle of whisky as a thank you.
The AA today warned that driving in wet conditions can be hazardous and even those with local knowledge can be caught out during heavy downpours.
Standing water creates a potential aquaplaning hazard as well as reducing visibility.
Take it easy through standing water and if the steering does become unresponsive due to the rain, ease off the accelerator and slow down gradually.
Only attempt to drive through flood water if you know it's not too deep and maintain a steady, slow speed to avoid creating a bow wave. The air intake on many cars is low down at the front and...

A night of DJs across five rooms including sets from My Nu Leng and NVOY.
After last years sellout show with My Nu Leng, Hold It Down knew they needed to bring them back to Exeter. On that occasion, Jammo played solo, but this time around Tommo will also be gracing the decks.
Joining them we have something special in the shape of NVOY. Hailing from London, they make the right kind of house music. Think Dusky meets Kaytranada and you’ll get a little insight into their sound.
