Exeter Corn Exchange has announced details of its events programme for the autumn period.  The City Council run venue will host a mix of comedy, music and specialist events with highlights including comedians Sean Lock, Josh Widdicombe and Jethro, and singers Russell Watson, Eddie Reader and Donovan.  There will also be appearances by Steve Backshall and the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain as well as Ballet and Burlesque.

The programme gets underway on Friday 11 September with the International Ocean Film Festival and on Sunday 13th the venue hosts a concert by Liederkranz Germania Choir from Exeter’s twin city Bad Homburg together with Exeter Children’s Orchestra.

It is ‘sold out - returns only’ for comedian Josh Widdicombe on Monday 14 September and then on Saturday 19 September the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain performs an afternoon and evening concert.  The first Exeter Comedy Club of the new season is on Friday 25 September and folk duo Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick appear on Sunday 27 September.

October sees the Corn Exchange host the Vienna Festival Ballet production of Coppelia on Sunday 4th.  Abbamania appear on Sunday 11 October and there is comedy from Milton Jones (pictured) on Wednesday 14th.  The Motown and Philadelphia show is on Friday 16 October, Jethro is Monday 19th and The Lindisfarne Story is on Wednesday 21 October.

An evening of Dirty Dancing – the tribute show is on Friday 23 October and cricket commentators Blofeld and Baxter appear on Sunday 25 October.  There is comedy from Jimeoin on Wednesday 28 October and the month draws to a close with Exeter Comedy Club on Friday 30 and Kinky & Quirky’s Halloween Burlesque and Boogie on Saturday 31.

Classical crossover star Russell Watson kicks off November on Wednesday 4 and the Blues Band perform on Friday 6th.  Psychic medium Derek Acorah performs on Sunday 8 November and Eddi Reader performs in concert on Wednesday 11 November.  Legendary folk-rock star Donovan visits the Corn Exchange on Friday 13 November and wildlife TV presenter Steve Backshall performs a matinee and an evening show on Saturday 14 November.

There is comedy from Ed Byrne on Monday 16 November and again from Andy Hamilton on 18 November.  Joe Stilgoe performs on Sunday 22 November and the Festival of the Spoken Nerd perform their new show on Wednesday 25 November.  Exeter Comedy Club returns on Friday 27 November.

December sees the Corn Exchange host The Drifters, three Exeter Comedy Club Christmas Specials, a Christmas Soul & Disco Explosion with Radio Exe’s Chris Dinnis and the start of a 37 date run for this year’s pantomime Sleeping Beauty.

Looking further forward to the new year shows already booked at the venue include Circus of Horrors, Elkie Brooks, a tribute shows to Oasis, Stereophonics and Bob Marley, Jim Davidson, Dave Gorman, Stewart Francis, Mark Thomas, Tommy Tiernan, Fairport Convention, Mark Watson and Julian Clary.
