A VOTE to leave the EU would cause a 'profound economic shock' that would cost tens of thousands of jobs, and risk living standards and house prices in the South West, Chancellor George Osborne will warn today. (TUES)

Jury finds Stuart Hodgkin guilty of of murdering Newton Abbot man Adrian Munday

A 41-year-old man from Newton Abbot has been convicted of the murder of Adrian Munday at Exeter Crown Court today (Monday 13 June).

The jury found Stuart Hodgkin, originally from Basingstoke, guilty of Adrian’s murder.

He will be sentenced on Tuesday, 14th June.

Adrian Munday, 51, was found deceased at a property on Wain Lane, Newton Abbot on Tuesday 6 October 2015.

Following the results of a forensic post mortem, police launched a murder investigation.

Applications invited for latest round of Business Promotion Grant funding

Businesses in Devon have the opportunity to bid for a new round of grant funding to help them reach new customers and clients, following the initial success of the scheme earlier this year.

Devon County Council launched the Business Promotion Grant in February as part of its Devon Delivers programme, which aims to highlight the benefits of locating a business in the county.

Business is booming on Exeter Quayside

Business is booming at Exeter's resurgent Quayside with local traders reporting good times at the tills, as more and more events are held at the city attraction.

With only six months of the year gone , the popular location has already hosted 77 events. In 2015, 81 events were held at the Quay and in 2014 the figure was 50, meaning 2016 is set smash previous records.

Great news for everyone who missed out on tickets for this summer’s Radio One Big Weekend, and for those who want to see one of the highlights of that weekend at Powderham Castle again: Chase & Status are confirmed as special guests for Saturday night.

Lockdown, the South‐West’s biggest dance music festival, will take place in the grounds of the magnificent Powderham Castle, Exeter on the weekend of 9-11 September 2016.

This event was previously advertised as Bassline Festival, but has been rebranded to avoid confusion with another event of the same name.
