Gidleigh Park has once again been named amongst the UK’s top 50 restaurants in The Waitrose Good Food Guide 2017.

Rising seven places in 2017, Gidleigh Park remains the only Devon restaurant to be included in the guide. Executive Chef Michael Wignall commented, “We’re delighted to be named in The Waitrose Good Food Guide 2017, especially as this award combines not only the feedback of inspectors, but also of our guests. I’m so proud of the team here at Gidleigh Park, whose individual talents and teamwork ensure that we continue to produce new and exciting dishes”. Stephanie Hocking...

Spectators' guide to Devon Stage of the Tour of Britain

Spectators have 93 miles (137km) of Devon’s roads to choose from when it comes to watching the Devon Stage Tour of Britain on Friday 9 September.

Break Away at Ladram Bay

I had always been a little dubious about holiday parks, imagining them to be over-crowded, noisy, with the accommodation being basic and disappointing but, I have to say that after a stay at Ladram Bay Holiday Park, I am converted!

They are a great place to stay with children and ensure there is something to do whatever the weather. The other great thing is that you feel safe not to have your eyes on your children every second. Living just outside Exeter too, it seemed a little strange to be staying away so close to home. However, this was the beauty of the location - no queues on...

It will be the first time in four years that the council is proposing to change the scheme, which was introduced in 2013. The amendments are being drafted to...

The recent period of good weather is certainly enticing plenty of people to venture onto Dartmoor.

It is great to visit with friends and family to enjoy a picnic in a lovely unspoilt riverside setting, sit amongst the lush green grass and enjoy a fantastic moorland view - or even pack all your gear in a rucksack and head into the open moor to camp out under the stars.

But without the hard work of Dartmoor Rangers and volunteers the picture wouldn’t be quite the same.

Because, without their ceaseless work, in some of the more popular places to visit, you’d be sitting...
