The Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust has appointed Suzanne Tracey as its new Chief Executive. Ms Tracey, who has been the Trust’s Director of Finance and Business Development, Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Financial Officer and more recently acting Chief Executive, will take up her post with immediate effect.

Look out for the Exeter Sheep Trail

The Exeter Sheep Trail is being launched next week (Fri 25th Nov) when a variety of knitted sheep will be displayed in local shop windows.

The trail is a community project being run by Isca Church and over the past few weeks’ enthusiastic local knitters have been busily creating a fabulous flock of more than 30 woolly sheep.

The sheep are all different shapes and sizes and have their own name, proudly displayed on a brown tag.

Popular lane set to reopen to public following Exeter fire

Work is being carried out to open up Martin’s Lane in Exeter following last month’s city centre fire. Christmas lights are also being installed outside shops in and around Cathedral Yard by the Business Improvement District (BID).

Contractors are looking to get the Lane, back in use by the end of play on Monday as well as removing the cordon at the bottom end of Catherine Street. South Devon is looking forward to a boost to tourism following the airing of the second series of The Coroner, starring Claire Goose, which starts at 2.15pm on BBC1 next Monday. First World War exhibition opens at RD&E Hospital

A photographic exhibition which gives an insight into Devon’s war hospitals during the First World War (1914–18) has opened at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

‘Devon Caring in War’ includes a series of images showing how the county’s war-wounded were cared for on their return home, including by the use of some pioneering therapy techniques.
