The parents of missing Exeter man, Gavin Heywood, who has been missing since 26th May have pleaded for their son to make contact or for anyone who may have seen him to get in contact.
Mr and Mrs Heywood said: “Our son Gavin has now been missing since May 26th. During this time he hasn't used his bank account or his phone.
“This is totally out of character. We are very concerned and desperately need to know if he is safe and well. If anyone knows of his whereabouts or anything at all about his disappearance, PLEASE contact the police.”
There are many fine choirs in the Exeter area and some of our regulars are also members of the Exeter choirs.
Forever Young Sing for Fun - we are not a choir - started eleven years ago and continues most Monday evenings at St Sidwell's School, York Road, Exeter EX4 6PG. We don't have sessions in August and start again Monday 4th September. Two hours of fun, 7pm-9pm, £3.50 on the door.
People don't often talk about the downside of singing but a few years ago Chris Rowbury wrote something about it in his blog. We know about the health and social benefits but, apart from...

Dr. Sarah Jackson has long been a supporter of popular Devon charity Hospiscare , and now holds the position of trustee. But this September will see Sarah go further still as she plans the challenge of completing her first half-ironman to raise funds for the charity.
As Sarah recognises, this is no small undertaking. “It’s happening in Weymouth on Sunday 17th September,” she confirms. “It is a long-distance triathlon which involves a 1.9km open water sea swim, a 90km undulating bike ride and a 21km run. This last one is a half-marathon in itself. The whole thing will take seven or...
Exeter City Council has revealed more details about the work being carried out to assess the full extent of fire damage at the city’s Riverside Leisure Centre. The task of assessing damage to the roof caused by the fire on February 21 is complex and time consuming, and the operator cannot reopen the pool and health suite until it is safe and appropriate to do so. A report following a full structural assessment of the roof is expected to be completed by the end of August. It will determine the extent and likely timescale of the works required to repair the structure. The current worse-case...

A clock in bits was the surprise performer at the recent Chilcotts Auctioneers Fine Arts, Antiques and Collectors Items sale in Honiton.
The clock, more correctly known as a chronometer, was made by important clock makers ‘Kelvin, White and Hutton’. It came from a Mid-Devon family, and was a treasured family heirloom - until they decided to restore it.
The chronometer was taken to a clock restorer, who dismantled it but was unable to put it back together again. He returned the piece to them in bits, together with a note saying he could not reassemble it - and that he was...
