Exeter City sign Kane Wilson on loan

Exeter City have signed West Bromwich Albion’s right-back Kane Wilson on loan until January, subject to Premier League approval. Wilson, who has represented England at under-16 and under-17 level, is currently away on duty for his country and will link up with the Exeter City squad next week. The 17-year-old comes to St James Park with a growing reputation having made his debut for West Brom in the EFL Cup last season and also played two games for the club in EFL Trophy last campaign.

September street party to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer

Local lady Wendy from Chudleigh will be hosting her annual, fun-filled street party on Saturday September 2nd. This year she will be raising money for a charity close to her heart, Pancreatic Cancer Action.

Wendy, owner of the Bishop Lacy Inn on Fore Street organises the community event to bring everyone together for a day of celebration that anyone can come along to free of charge. The road will be closed from 12pm – 12am so the party can take place. There will be live bands from 2pm to 11pm and a raffle with local companies helping out for free.

Local Sugar Smart teams across the South West are encouraging people to attempt the Sugar Smart September challenge and are providing support and tips throughout the month.

Sugar Smart September is a challenge to reduce ‘free sugar’ in our diets for the month of September.

People can choose from four options for the challenge, from completely cutting out free sugar from their diet for the whole month, to trying to keep intake of free sugar to below the recommended seven teaspoons per day.

Teignbridge residents are invited to two home composting roadshows in Newton Abbot where they could be in with the chance of winning a luxury hamper!

The roadshows, run by Recycle Devon and supported by Teignbridge District Council, will give people the chance to buy a compost bin and get advice and tips about home composting. Police appeal to Lockdown Festival goers

Devon and Cornwall Police are working closely with the organisers of this years’ Lockdown music festival which will be held on the Powderham Castle estate near Exeter. This close working will ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone.

Over the last few weeks eight local fire stations in and around Exeter have received a donation of specially designed animal oxygen kits from a local Insurance office.
