Hospiscare patient, Bronia, hopes to get home for the weekend

There are many myths surrounding hospices, one of the biggest misconceptions is that if you get admitted to one, it’s because you are about to die. That’s certainly the impression Bronia Rosier and her family had when she was referred to local charity, Hospiscare.

Bronia, 56, from Ottery St Mary, was diagnosed with a tumour two years ago. After a course of chemo and radiotherapy which was unsuccessful in shrinking the growth, she underwent surgery to remove it. Lightfoot joins Exeter City Futures network and launches further local beta devices to tackle congestion in the city

Lightfoot, the world’s first connected car technology and platform for rewarding better drivers, is adding a further 100 drivers to the next phase of their Exeter pilot.

The chosen individuals were selected to be given Lightfoot devices worth £100 each as part of a local beta recruitment programme that ran earlier this year.

The recipients of the devices will also be helping the region by enabling City Science to analyse congestion and traffic data generated (with names and vehicle details removed) with the aim of improving Exeter’s transport networks for everyone.

Over 200 guests helped to celebrate the official opening of the new £8.5m Marshall Exeter Audi terminal building, almost double the size of the former centre and with extensive customer parking. The event helped to showcase the latest Audi Terminal concept and the glittering 15-car showroom.

According to a 2015 article in the Telegraph , divorces were on the decline. However, statistics from the Office of National Statistics (ONS) indicate that divorces were once again on the rise in 2016, which leaves many to wonder, what will the figures from 2017 show? With just one more month in the year, that information may not be long in the coming. If the figures are anything like last year, family solicitors in London will be kept busy in the new year.

Teignbridge District Council is warning residents not to give their personal details over the phone as bogus callers target the area.

Insulation companies have been contacting local residents about cavity wall insulation and are claiming to work for Teignbridge.

Local residents are being advised that the cavity wall insulation they have installed is not up to standard and they are at risk of ending up with damp problems. This is followed by a claim that they can claim compensation from the company who did the installation.

New public car parking spaces for Exmouth

Visitors and shoppers can take advantage of 31 additional spaces in council car park next to Exmouth Town Hall
