The new year finds a new front of house manager at Ottery St Mary coffee shop, Tickety-Boo.

Popular front of house regular Cheryl Mabin moved into the role after Zoe Blackmore decided to pursue a different vocation.

Cheryl has been working at Tickety-Boo for over 16 months, almost since the coffee shop opened. Previously she worked in customer service at Tufnells, with 14 years at The Disney Store and a stint at children’s playzone Wacky Warehouse.

Exeter City sign Kane Wilson on loan

West Bromwich Albion defender Kane Wilson says he is looking forward to ‘kicking-on’ and ‘progressing further’ having agreed a loan deal with Exeter City until the end of the season, subject to Football League approval.

Exeter manager Paul Tisdale wants Kyle Edwards to follow the lead of West Brom team-mate Kane Wilson and extend his loan spell with the Grecians.

Wilson was given the green light from the Baggies to remain in the South West for the remainder of the campaign after his initial five-month period had elapsed.

The 17-year-old made eight appearances in his first spell while 19-year-old Edwards has enjoyed ten outings in League Two and 14 in total, scoring one goal to date.

Thousands of fragile and irreplaceable images of Devon have been preserved for future generations to see thanks to University of Exeter experts.

The future looks bright for job seekers in Exeter and further afield following the success of a recent job fair in the city. More than 1,800 job seekers attended the Exeter Jobs Fair in September at Exeter Corn Exchange, with some people travelling from as far as Cardiff, Somerset and Plymouth. A377 in Crediton to be closed for a month

The A377 between Queen Elizabeth Drive and Higher Road Crediton is to be closed for foutr weks in order to stabilise the carriageway edge and resurface a cracked section of road.

The scheme is due to commence on 15 January 2018 and will continue for approximately a month (weather dependent). The road will be closed 24hrs a day but could be re-opened sooner subject to favourable conditions.

Women … do you have a passion for song? And would you like to take part in a stage show? Then here’s your chance to join the choir in a brand new Wren Music show that’s touring Devon in March – and no previous experience is necessary.

Rehearsals for ‘Ain’t I A Woman’ take place at the Cygnet Theatre in Exeter over four Sunday afternoons from 28 January to 25 February, with the tour taking to the road in Devon and Dorset in early March.

BAFTA-nominated Dani Harmer, and Archers legend Graham Seed open Exeter Rep's season with ' Twelfth Night', running 7th to 24th February at the intimate Barnfield Theatre.

Dani played the hugely popular Tracy Beaker from 2002 to 2012 in the CBBC programmes T he Story of Tracy Beaker, Tracy Beaker Returns and Tracey Beaker Survival Files .
